I’m thinking about getting a fetal doppler to check my babies heart beat at my own time. Any one else have one? Or does it create anxiety?

I'd love to do the same, but it definitely causes unnecessary anxiety because unless you're a trained medical professional, you won't really know what you're doing or where exactly to check which can cause you to not find the heartbeat & cause you unnecessary distress. I am a trained medical professional & have performed these on thousands of women over the years, yet I still won't get 1 to attempt it on myself.
The way I look at it, as long as there isn't any bleeding or unusual pain, the baby is doing fine & I won't have added anxiety about a problem that isn't even there. Plus, hearing the heartbeat less frequently makes those moments at the Dr's office that much more special. If you do or say something too often, it tends to lose meaning, & I think that listening to the heartbeat & seeing them on ultrasounds is the same way- the moments mean that much more to me since it's not a daily or weekly thing.

I just bought mine and by now as a mother to be it’s not rocket science to find a heart beat just ask your doctor to show you how to use it!!!

it gives peace of mind for sure.
If you had children before you know what a baby heartbeat sounds like.
Up to about 20 weeks your baby is lower and rise more weeks u become. Also u can get to learn the doppler by moving it slowly to find your baby's favorite spot 😊. it's not for everyone, but it gave me peace of mind after so many miscarriages. I'm now 19 weeks.

For as much as medical professionals have struggled to find fetal heartbeats with both of my pregnancies, I wouldn’t want to put myself through that stress.

@midwestmom0213,
This is the same issue that a lot of to-be parents experience when they buy them, which is why I advocate for just waiting until your next appointment rather than giving yourself unnecessary anxiety- which isn't good for you or the baby.
They have a hard time finding it with me these past 2 appointments also, taking 2-3 techs before it's found, which can be a little nerve-wracking.
